The Cardiographer

The Cardiographer

From vebelfetzer.

State secret: I don’t have a fucking clue what I’m doing. I’m an art school drop out, and I went to a shitty school in the first place. My theories about painting are wrestled sideways from a decade of digital coloring. This is a hypothetical underpainting for what will, hypothetically, be a rendering of human skin. Ish.

it looks good. not that i think you really are, but don’t worry about how bullshit your technique is. if it looks good, who cares? do you really worry about what art snobs think anyways?

you’ve got a solid base in anatomy and proportions and composition and a good sense of color, which means you’re better than most art school graduates. and you have creativity and your artwork has ’soul’, so that raises it above any little technical errors.

this prototype shadow/negative painting actually looks pretty badass.

my friend (http://isometric.sixsided.org/) gave me the best advice ever, which is to stop worrying about whether your work is any good, and just produce it anyhow.

however good you are, five years from now you’ll think it’s crap regardless. because five years from now, you’ll be better.
