The Golden Age of Prints Approacheth (Again)
As I type this, I am one-fisting a foiled chicken burrito, naked, praying for death or at least coma.
I keep telling myself that Seattle will be worse this summer, that at least in Death Valley there is interesting wildlife and free-for-the-taking transients on every corner. I made the right choice, I say, wheezing. Gas may be five dollars per gallon, but all my motors run on hate. I’ll be fine.
I laid down a sizable smatter of smackers for a replacement printer today, meaning that the Etsy store is about to go back up.
ECTOBEE: I gonna die.
STICKYPIG: this heat is horrid.
ECTOBEE: I don’t even have AC.
ECTOBEE: I’m gonna be one of those old people you hear about, found jerkified on their sofas.
STICKYPIG: they will find you, full of sadness, but still start chewing on you.
When I stand up, my little folding camp chair remains adhered to my generous buttocks. I do this for you.

Aaron Cole is a photographer friend of mine who is showing his work at Berkeley’s famous Pub for an undisclosed amount of time, starting Sunday, February 17th, at 5pm. I don’t know for sure, but I suspect there will be refreshments. This is par for the course with art shows.

I Should Have Done This Years Ago
I have sold something, or multiple things, every single day that my Etsy store has been active, with the exception of Sunday. This includes two original paintings, Afterglow (of which I am now selling prints) and Lisette, which is going all the way to Norway.
My friend Mikeatron has been on Etsy forever, and seemingly doing well for himself (damn you, Mike! Why didn’t you tell me?!). His work is a fantastic mythology of breakfast foods, astronauts, crudity and joy.
Really the only problem I’m having now is that I’m selling paintings faster than I can paint them. It’s getting so I have pieces in my actual possession for maybe a week before they’re off on adventures without me. It’s a glorious problem to have, do not get me wrong, but perhaps the next piece I finish will actually hang on my wall, secretly, just for me to enjoy. At least for a little while.

This “Etsy” Allows You to Buy Things. From Me.
I am in the process of adding prints and originals for sale to a new Etsy store, even though every $0.20 they rip from my adorable little claws is like a fork in the kidney. I may live in the Oort Cloud, but I can still feel the pain of e-commerce.
So after I ride my bike down to the Inner Solar System today to mail Noah his goddamned prints finally, I will be adding more STUFF. Here are the pieces that are currently uploaded:
Prints are 8.5×11 unless otherwise noted, and are printed on heavy matte archival paper. They’re cheap right now too, so have at it. I will raise the prices eventually. EVENTUALLY!

Last time I went to a Blow opening party, there was a ridiculous amount of excellent food and drink. Even if you despise my artwork, you would do well to show up and partake. Little home-printed sketchbooklets will be available at this show, something I’ve never done before.
I’ve been busy since my last show in Seattle, and the Real World art show will feature an avalanche of brand new, never-before-shown works including:
- Bombus infernae (10×10″, oil on canvasboard), the climactic end to the Bee Commission! A jellybean from hell!
- Wee Bee God (4 x 6″, oil on canvasboard)
- Rose-Colored Monocle (2×2″, oil on canvas)
- Dhampir (8×10″, digital)
- Shine (12×12″, oil on canvas)
- The Ghost of Blueprint Cat Contemplates the City at Night (an Argyrial Reverie) (2×2″, oil on canvas)
- The Vacuum-Traffic Controller (40×50″, oil on canvas)
- Lisette (I’m Sorry You Have the Right Number) (16×24″, oil on wood)
- and as a special treat, a secret work from the early Bee Commission that has never been seen by anyone but the artist and the client: the Angel of Rust and Nausea (10×10″, plus attached palette, acrylic on board). This piece will go back to private collection at an unspecified time, will never be scanned or photographed, and will never appear online.
And tons more. I have an overwhelming amount of wall and window space, so I’m hanging everything.
